What is ZAM Steel?
Zn-Al-Mg — The Next Generation Coated Steel
ZAM steel (Zinc-Aluminum-Magnesium) is a revolutionary corrosion-resistant coated steel product. The coating consists of zinc (Zn) as the base, with carefully controlled additions of aluminum (Al) and magnesium (Mg). This unique alloy composition creates a dense, stable corrosion product layer that provides exceptional protection.
The key innovation: self-healing cut-edge protection. When the coating is scratched or cut, magnesium enables the formation of a protective layer that gradually "heals" exposed edges, preventing red rust from propagating. This makes ZAM the ideal choice for applications where cutting, punching, or drilling is required.
Qiaosi International Trade supplies ZAM coil with coating weights ZAM40 to ZAM275. Available in bare, chromated, oiled, and anti-fingerprint finishes.
