What Is Galvalume Steel Coil?
Aluminum-Zinc Alloy Coated Steel — AZ Coating
Galvalume steel (also known as Aluzinc / Zincalume / GL) is a cold-rolled steel sheet coated with a unique alloy of 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc, and 1.5% silicon. Applied via the continuous hot-dip process, this coating combines the best properties of both aluminum and zinc:
The aluminum provides a durable barrier protection and excellent high-temperature/heat-reflective properties, while the zinc delivers sacrificial/galvanic protection at cut edges. The result is a coated steel product with 2–4 times the corrosion resistance of conventional hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) steel in most environments.
