What is Color Coated Steel?
Prepainted Steel Coil — PPGI / PPGL / PPZAM
Color coated steel (also known as prepainted steel / PPGI / color board) is produced by applying multiple layers of paint onto a galvanized or coated steel substrate through a continuous coil coating process. The result is a high-performance building material that combines the strength of steel with the aesthetic appeal of advanced paint systems.
PPGI uses hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) as the base, PPGL uses galvalume (AZ), and PPZAM uses ZAM (Zn-Al-Mg) — each offering different levels of corrosion protection.

PPGL
Galvalume Substrate (AZ / GL). 2–4× better corrosion resistance than PPGI. Ideal for roofing, wall cladding, and industrial buildings.
PPZAM
Zn-Al-Mg Substrate. 3–5× better than HDG with self-healing cut-edge protection. Premium solution for coastal & marine environments.

Polyester
Standard paint system. Good formability and color retention for general indoor / outdoor use.
High Durability Polyester
Enhanced UV resistance and color retention. Ideal for roofing and wall cladding in moderate climates.
Silicone Modified Polyester
Excellent heat and UV resistance. Good chemical resistance. Suitable for industrial environments.
Polyvinylidene Fluoride
Premium fluorocarbon system. Exceptional UV & chemical resistance. 20–40 years outdoor life.
Backer coat: 5–8 μm epoxy or polyester. Anti-fingerprint treatment available on all systems.
